What's a "Large Amount" of Fiber?
by Vitamins and Supplements FAQs • Jun 18, 2011
You had stated in a prior article that large amounts of fiber supplements may rush things along so that the vitamins are not fully absorbed if taken together. Having said that… What is considered “large amounts” and also, does psyllium husks react in the same way? Currently I am taking mine together and have for years. A powder like our Swanson Premium Colon Cleansing Formula, which delivers a total amount of 7.5 (7500 mg) grams of fiber may 'rush' things a bit more than you would like. However, a psyllium fiber supplement like our Swanson Premium Psyllium Husks with just 610 mg per capsule should be just fine.
